Government institutions deal with a whole lot of confidential and critical information. Hence, it is essential to have proper e-mail and file tracking systems. The Registry System (RS) developed by SIL is a high level file tracking system, which manages incoming and outgoing mails.
RS covers most of the activities and reporting capabilities of a Registry. It caters for multiple registries, with each registry having its own file index structure operating independently, and also provides the facilities to transfer files/mails among them. It provides better control on movement of files and faster access to registry files. Queries and reports on the registries are also available.
This system has been implemented and is currently being used by many para-statal bodies in the Republic of Mauritius.
