Head of Project Management
Job Purpose
The Head of Projects is responsible for the strategic leadership, project delivery, and execution function of all projects within the organization. The role ensures effective governance, optimal resource utilisation, and successful project delivery aligned with organisational objectives. The Head of Projects oversees Project Managers and ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic leadership and direction for all project management activities within the organization.

Oversee planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of all projects to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Establish and enforce project governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and best practices.

Ensure effective resource planning, allocation, and utilization across multiple projects.

Monitor project performance, including timelines, budgets, risks, and quality standards.

Provide guidance and support to Project Managers in managing complex and high-impact projects.

Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, management, and external partners, to ensure project success.

Oversee risk management processes and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project delivery and performance.

Oversee post-implementation reviews and ensure lessons learned are captured and applied.

Collaborate closely with Business Development, Infrastructure & Systems, and other divisions.

Report on project portfolio status to senior management and provide strategic recommendations.

Perform any other duties related to project management as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in any relevant field.

Bachelor’s degree in information and communication technology (ICT).

Minimum of 10–12 years of relevant experience in project management within the ICT sector.

Proven experience in leading multiple projects and managing teams.

Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) will be an advantage.
