Senior Technology Consultant – BI Analyst
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Translate business needs to technical specifications
ii. Design, build and deploy BI solutions
iii. Maintain and support data analytics platforms
iv. Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
v. Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
vi. Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
vii. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
viii. Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
ix. Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
x. Assume responsibility for
- the preparation of software documentation and user manuals and
- develop and update technical documentation
- the testing and correction of programs
xi. Communicate effectively with the project team
xii. Perform any other related functions to be assigned by the Project Manager
xiii. Carry out such acts as shall be required for the proper fulfilling of duties listed under items (i) to (x) above
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)
Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Knowledge on ETL tools (e.g. Informatica, SSIS, Talend)
Conversant with databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
