Senior Technology Consultant – DevOps Engineer
Job Purpose
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and scale our infrastructure and deployment processes. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience in building robust, secure, and scalable systems. You will play a key role in shaping our DevOps culture, mentoring junior engineers, and driving automation and reliability across the software delivery lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, test, and deployment processes.
- Manage and support cloud and on-premises infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Oracle OCI, or equivalent).
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Ensure system reliability, availability, and scalability through monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
- Implement automated deployment and release management processes across environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Production).
- Monitor systems and applications using observability tools and respond to incidents and outages.
- Manage and optimize containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ensure security best practices are applied across infrastructure and pipelines (access control, secrets management, patching).
- Collaborate with development teams to improve application performance, deployment efficiency, and system stability.
- Support incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
- Optimize infrastructure usage to ensure cost efficiency and performance optimization.
- Maintain and document DevOps processes, configurations, and system architectures.
- Promote and implement DevOps best practices, including automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Carry out such acts as shall be required for the proper fulfilling of duties listed above
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3 to 6+ years of experience in DevOps, System Engineering, or Infrastructure roles.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and modern deployment environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation.
- Experience in managing production environments and mission-critical systems.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with cloud platforms, including one or more of:
- AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch)
- GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Cloud Monitoring)
- Oracle OCI (Compute, Object Storage, Monitoring, Functions)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch).
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python).
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
- Familiarity with security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with automation tools and configuration management.
