SIL eGov User Group – A platform for Information Exchange

SIL has recently launched its eGov User Group on LinkedIn. It is a platform for information exchange – a tool to engage and build a relationship with e-government stakeholders through meaningful and interactive content of mutual interest. It has been created following the overwhelming participant feedback from eGov Conference 2015 to start a user group around e-government related topics.

The eGov User Group consists of a select group of individuals who share common interests towards helping the progress and development of e-government in Mauritius. Members are personnel from ministries, government departments, parastatal organisations, local government as well as select members of SIL team and its partners.

The user group members will receive regular communications about upcoming eGov events and topics of interest. Group members will have regular quarterly meetings in the form of round table discussions, and where members can share ideas on technologies, applications, or recent advancements in e-government. Each of these informative meetings will be based on a select topic or trend on e-government and would be chaired by a leading speaker from one of SIL’s technology partners. The round table discussion topics and content will be selected based on the group member levels (either middle management or users).

Moreover, the highlights of the group’s activities will culminate at each SIL’s annual eGov Conference. A part of the eGov Conference agenda will be dedicated to recognising the achievements and contributions by group members. Prizes and certificates will be awarded to group members who have significantly contributed to the development of the group and its activities.
